Hello to new ballpark

I was minding my own business at work on Monday, May 8, when a co-worker dropped four of the company's Cardinals tickets on my desk and asked if I wanted to use them and go to that evening's game. I immediately panicked. Would I be able to find three people to go with me at the last minute? The answer was of course! Who can say no to free baseball tickets?

I hadn't been to the new stadium yet and I wondered what I would think of it. I loved old Busch and hated that they bulldozed it for the new one. The new stadium is nice. There is more room to move around on the concourses. But you can't see into the stadium from the concourses and I missed that. Also, the upper decks reminded me of my college football stadium -- Faurot Field. The design of the seating and concourse is very similar. I did like the views of the Arch and the Old Courthouse from inside the stadium. But the view of the Old Courthouse will disappear once they build Ballpark Village.

Overall, my friends and I enjoyed the game even though they lost. I'm beginning to think that I'm a jinx for the team. The past several games I have attended, they have lost.
